Alex Murphy

Alex Murphy was born on 22nd April 1939.

He signed for the St Helens Rugby League

Club just after Midnight, on his 16th Birthday,

on 22nd April 1955. His signing on fee was £80.

In a 'Rugby Leaguer' poll he was voted

'Player of the Millennium'.

This DVD takes viewers through his school years to him signing for St Helens where he met his second "Dad", Coach Jim Sullivan who taught him how to read the game. Alex also tells of how he proved the Careers Officer completely wrong. How the Great Alan Prescott should have been given the George Cross. All this and more come out in this wonderful DVD.
